Abstract

The aim of hub location problems, is establishing flow in different distribution networks in the best way possible. In more locating hub problems, it is assumed that flow between nodes can pass maximum from two hubs, while in the real-world cargos may be forced along their route pass from more number of hubs that in this case, the use of hierarchical hub location models seems to be necessary. On the other hand, one of the most important issues in transportation networks, is timely delivery of goods and increase service levels. So, multi-modal transportation network design that can be used from various transport modes road, rail, sea and air have been developed. In this study, a non-linear model in order to locating hierarchical hub in multi-modal network and its solutions with GAMS software is suggested. The results show that the proposed model would lead to increasing decision-making powers in choosing transport routes, controlling delivery times and increasing in serving level.
